Is that a good grip? I'd call it a good time (5/5)
That is probably why they named it that, since rubber is really easy to work with. I was using this shaker when I saw one of my "hipster" friends using it and they said, "you should stick with an all metal shaker. " "Yeah, but The Arcade Fire made a song called 'Metal Shaker. ' Why would they name a song that way? The burns inflicted by the fire were very serious and he never really recovered. During 30 minutes of him watching his phone, I saw him checking it It was about 45 minutes later that he came up to me and tried to act like he remembered something about heat conduction from memory, but I assumed he had just read it on While I called him a friend earlier, he is actually the boyfriend of one of my wife's friends, who gets dragged along with her at social functions. Even though he's there, I think he doesn't like it. I would have said, "Hey. " if he had approached me like that. You're using a rubberized shaker, okay let's talk more about that as a constructive way to get the message across. The burn on his hand would probably not have happened if I hadn't stomped on him so hard. ". Having made two drinks and giving him a blind taste test, I attempted to resolve the issue. Guess what he found out? Making both drinks in the same shaker (this one) was totally me pulling a Princess Bride on him. It was difficult for him to let go of that moment and he continued to say how much colder drink A was and how he could more clearly taste the individual notes of the spirits. My heart kind of started to sink because I didn't want to make him feel even worse about himself because this seems to be his whole gimmick-feeling superior to people by hitting them with "factchecks" from The Arcade Fire. My mistake was to simply tell the truth and say.

The failure of OXO here is truly shocking (1/5)
I found it very difficult to remove the cap from the body of the shaker, and I didn't find it very I have been a fan of OXO products for years, but this one is not for me.

I thought this was a miss for Oxo (1/5)
It wasn't too long ago that I needed a The OXO products I've used in the past have always served me well, so I ordered it immediately. The first time OXO has let me down was with this product. It is positively awful to use this shaker. would like to point out first that the measure built into the cap is a brilliant idea and this needs to be stolen by someone else. Let's take a look at all the things No seal can be found on the lid - This is not true. There is also no seal on the very top of the cap. The metal shaker works best when finger pressure is applied to keep It was tough wrapping this thing in a towel and trying to keep pressure on the thing. I found it exhausting to make things that require a lot of shaking, like sour cream. A shaker body that is insulated. I thought this was a good idea, but it wasn't. A part of how I judge how long a shaker needs to last is how it feels on the outside. If you don't pay, you don't get anything. Also, due to the double layer, you do not feel the vibrations, so when you shake you have no idea if you have enough ice, or if your ice has completely broken down. In addition to out leaking the contents of your very nice cocktail, the lid will at very least drip and possibly spew it everywhere when you pour it. I love OXO products, but this one was approved by a bunch of people who don't actually care for what they're selling Those who drink.

I wouldn't call it great for a starter shaker, but it's not bad It's not fancy, but there were many mixed reviews about metal shakers, so I bought it because I didn't need anything fancy (3/5)
A major flaw of the cap construction (double walled, snug fit between cap and cup, graduated levels on cap) is the way it dangles over the cup. As with all dishes, I like to wash them before using them for the first time, but after lightly washing this by hand, I noticed there wasn't a good seal between the inner and outer plastic layers, so water got into the air. Getting out or drying off was impossible because of gaps in the space. To have to deal with it already before the first use is problematic, although I can understand that it is plastic. Despite the fact that I do not want water to pool inside the shaker over time, I would have given it four to five stars if it didn't have the water issue. My ideal use of this shaker is for road trips, where it can serve as a starter shaker. Nevertheless, I will likely have to invest in a more durable metal one in the near future.

The OXO shaker I have is not the best (3/5)
I am a little disappointed by this product. Using the lid as a measuring cup and then placing it on the shaker does not work well since it tends to drip booze on your hand as you shake and while it may be helpful at times to have sticky liquid to grip the shaker with, it is not pleasant to use. Furthermore, when you take the lid off of the shaker and pour it through the integrated strainer it again drips. Due to the wet nature of the lid, it becomes more difficult to remove it from the lower cup. In the grand scheme of things, the shaker is a decent product if you are looking for an all-in-one device, but there are better alternatives already out there if you do more than mix cocktails occasionally.

A good set of bar and cooking tools is available from OXO (5/5)
In general, I don't pay much attention to brand names, but OXO items I have used in the past have been durable and fairly well made. A few months ago, I only found out that they make cocktail shakers, so I tried one. This shaker is designed in a way that makes each part intuitive to use. The cap has clear measurements for common liquor pours when making a mixed drink, such as 1 1/2 oz and 3 oz pours. The tool is very useful when attempting to keep the number of barware tools used minimal and thus reducing the amount of cleanup time. Even if one's hands get wet from washing between drinks, one's hands will still be able to easily hold the removable parts of the jigger cap and strainer top. As a whole, the product is a pretty sturdy and self-contained tool that may be useful to have in the kitchen or at the bar during.

I do not recommend this product (2/5)
Oxo's design philosophy states that it takes into account all people and all situations. This is a simple feature that most people can use. As a result of their comfort, functionality, and ease of use, I have used many OXO products. There was nothing that could be done to remove the top of this cocktail shaker. Once we got back on, it was hard to find our way. I do not recommend this product.
