Rustic Manhattan Cocktail Recipe

Rustic Manhattan Cocktail Recipe

The Manhattan cocktail recipe was created by Robert Watrous from San Diego, California and it is a fun twist on the classic cocktail. Amidst all the original ingredients, New York State made sense so it makes sense that this dish was made there. Likewise, any cocktail lover can appreciate its fruity notes that add a little dimension to an otherwise ordinary drink.

In this rustic Manhattan, apples and raspberries come together to create a delicious, sweet flavor. A simple variation on the Manhattan, the Crazy Horse Cocktail is a spectacular cocktail you shouldn’t miss. A tasty fruity snack between the warm summer months and the fall months though it is my favorite anytime of year. Real apples can be used in making some apple whiskeys. It is perfect for mixing into cocktails as it has such a unique flavor. Apple whiskeys are, however is susceptible to the same issues as other whiskeys. In the flavored whiskey market there are a lot of whiskeys that are either overly sweet or have flavors that are unnatural so they’re more like liqueurs than whiskeys. A true apple whiskey would make a great addition to this cocktail.

Tips

  • The dry vermouth will also work well for this recipe.
  • You may want to muddle some raspberries before adding the other ingredients to reset the raspberry flavor.
  • Whenever you use cut apples for garnishing, dip them in lemon juice right after slicing. In this way, you will prevent the flesh from turning brown as it is exposed to oxygen and be able to enjoy your cocktail with a fabulous appearance.
