Classic Pimm’s Cups are reminiscent of summer and everything aristocratic and British, with Pimm’s No. 1, fizzy lemonade, lemon juice, lots of ice and an absolutely ludicrous garnish — like whole strawberries and plenty of basil leaves. Served in the hot summer sun, this classic summer drink is a refreshing drink.
Celery cup no. 1 is a refreshing spin on the popular Pimm’s Cup cocktails, a popular spiked lemonade located in the United Kingdom. A recipe by H Joseph Ehrmann, a bartender from Elixir Saloon in San Francisco which features a delicious organic cucumber vodka. Cocktails made with vodka, Pimm’s Cup No. 1 (gin-based liqueur), cilantro, and English cucumber are especially popular in the UK. It is like a liquid salad because it has celery, cilantro and cucumber.
If you’re going to make your own cucumber vodka, this cocktail would be excellent. It should take about three days for the infused water to reach its peak flavor.
- It is preferable to remove the cucumber’s skin, so an English cucumber is the perfect choice.
- In keeping with Pimm’s Cup tradition, you can top this drink off with lemonade (the original recipe). Ideally, it should be freshly squeezed. You can try it with lemonade and club soda, too.
- Often, ginger ale is substituted for Pimm’s, it creates a Pimm’s Rangoon, while Champagne is good for a Pimm’s Royal.
